This is a brand new full tang hand made razor sharp Damascus steel Japanese Dragon Samurai Tanto knife. Dragons are interesting mystic creatures that can be found in almost every culture. In Japanese culture, specially for the Samurais, dragon is a symbol of courage, luck, and strength. Tanto knives first appeared in the early Kamakura period, and the famous Yoshimitsu (the greatest tant? maker in Japanese history) began his forging. Tanto production peaked around the Muromachi period and then declined in the Shint? period ("new sword" period), when katanas becomes more and more popular. This tanto blade is solidly made with damascus steel. The blade is thoroughly hand hammered and has a consistent hardness across. In the steel constructed tsuba is a swirling three claw Japanese dragon, and the tsuka is made by hardened ray skin. Come with the tanto is a natural wood collector container box.
